Sound Particles
Sound Particles applies the particle-system approach of visual effects to audio, placing particle groups, emitters, tracks, and microphones in a virtual 3D scene to build crowds, storms, battles, traffic, and other complex soundscapes in multichannel and immersive formats.
Why use it
It is selected because large environments should not depend on copies of a few samples: teams can turn limited recordings into thousands of sources with varied position, timing, and processing, then capture synchronized deliverables from several virtual microphones—especially valuable for open worlds, battles, and cinematic-scale ambience.
Where it fits
Use art, animation, audio, levels, and narrative to make the game easy to read and its world convincing.
What to check
Production editions are available as perpetual purchases or subscriptions, while the trial cannot export audio; tiers cap particle and microphone counts, and Artist EDU output is non-commercial. Before shipping, offline renders still need to be divided into loops, layers, and dynamic mixes that fit FMOD, Wwise, or engine runtime budgets.
