Avaturn
Avaturn turns a user selfie into a 3D avatar with a standard humanoid rig, body, clothing, and accessory customization, ARKit blendshapes and visemes, plus model export or Unity, Unreal, web, and mobile SDK integration.
Why use it
It is selected because it connects player identity capture with runtime character creation: a team can validate the experience of putting players into the game without training a face-reconstruction model, building the entire creator UI, or operating its own export service, then add API and white-label control when the product proves demand.
Where it fits
Use art, animation, audio, levels, and narrative to make the game easy to read and its world convincing.
What to check
Basic integration can be tried for free, but bypassing Avaturn sign-in, customizing the flow, and using the full API require an expensive paid plan; teams must also obtain clear selfie consent, test bias across skin, hair, and lighting conditions, and review likeness, biometric-data, minor-user, and retention obligations.
